Polaris Bank, Amtis Skills Place reward creativity with over ₦1m in prizes
Polaris Bank, in partnership with Amtis Skills Place, celebrated the creativity and craftsmanship of emerging Nigerian fashion designers through the 2024 Amtis Fashion Competition, awarding over ₦1 million in prizes to participants.
The competition, which began on 21st October and ended on 29th November 2024, provided a platform for young designers to showcase their talents and compete for recognition.
In a statement on Wednesday, the event featured two stages: a preliminary round, judged by fashion experts Awosusi Damilola (CEO, Edyne) and Emmanuella Mene Josiah (CEO, Ellanel Couture), and a grand finale where finalists created “A Bridgerton-style dress” inspired by regency-era fashion.

Seven contestants advanced to the final stage, where their designs impressed judges Atinuke Adelakun (CEO, Patterns and Stitches) and Kolawole Ebunoluwa (CEO, LizBun Apparels).
The winners were Wuraola Roberts (@wurarobert), who clinched the grand prize of ₦500,000; Nwafor Mary-Cynthia (@kueenkally), the first runner-up, who won ₦300,000; and Okuniyi Mistura (@mixworldcreations), the second runner-up, who received ₦200,000.
Other contestants received consolation prizes for their efforts, and the event was graced by Polaris Bank representatives, including Mr. Gbenga Owootomo, Head of Branding Marketing, and Mrs. Titi Busari, Business Development Manager.
Addressing the participants, Owootomo stated, “Polaris Bank remains committed to empowering creative talents and supporting small businesses in Nigeria. This partnership with Amtis Skills Place reflects our dedication to fostering innovation and economic growth.”
Director of Amtis skills place, Mrs. Adebusola Omotunde, added, “This competition is a celebration of talent, hard work, and creativity. Amtis Skills Place is honored to nurture and showcase these bright minds.”
The competition showcased a stunning display of creativity and a fusion of traditional and contemporary styles, reaffirming the organisers’ commitment to nurturing Nigeria’s creative economy.
