Boomplay, Africa’s leading music streaming platform, has released its Top 10 Albums for August and  September, with Nigerian global superstar Burna Boy, fast-rising talent Famous Pluto, and breakout singer Modola securing spots on the coveted list.

The ranking highlights the most-streamed projects between January and September 2025, reflecting the artists who dominated the digital music space and connected strongly with fans across the continent.

Burna Boy’s album No Sign for Weakness continued to showcase his global appeal, blending Afro-fusion with socially conscious themes. Osahon Grandeur Uzama, also known as Famous Pluto, who has been hailed as one of the new voices to watch in Afrobeats, earned the 2nd spot with his first major charting project on Boomplay with his critically acclaimed project, Uzama The 3rd.

Meanwhile, Modola, whose full name is Temidola Awosika, followed at number 9, whose single “Talk” went viral on TikTok earlier this year, made her debut on the list with her project New Light. According to Boomplay, the album showcased the singer’s “musical maturity and passion”. Black Sheriff’s second project, ‘Iron Boy, ′ clinched the 3rd position.

Industry observers note that the inclusion of both emerging and established acts on the Boomplay Top 50 list demonstrates the growing diversity and reach of Afrobeats, as well as the shifting tastes of streaming audiences.
