Nigerian Afrobeats singer, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has broken into the UK iTunes Top 10 with his 2022 track, “For My Hand” featuring Ed Sheeran.

The song jumped to the No. 10 spot on Tuesday after Burna Boy delivered a surprise performance at the Lionesses’ Euro victory parade outside Buckingham Palace in London.

In a now-viral video shared on Tuesday on X, England women’s football coach, Sarina Wiegman, was seen reacting with excitement as Burna Boy approached her on stage.

She screamed in shock, stood up to hug the singer and held on tightly before returning to her seat, smiling.
Wiegman, who had previously named Burna Boy as one of her favourite artistes, appeared visibly moved by the visit.
Fans at the event also cheered loudly as Burna Boy took over the stage and performed “For My Hand”, one of the hit singles from his sixth studio album “Love, Damini”.

The appearance sparked excitement on social media, with users calling it one of the most memorable moments of the parade.

Burna Boy, known for his sold-out shows and growing global recognition, continues to push boundaries for Nigerian music on the international stage.

Recall that in June 2023, Burna Boy made history as the first Nigerian artiste to perform at the UEFA Champions League final, held at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul.

He performed “Last Last” and *It’s Plenty” with his band and dancers, turning the opening ceremony into a full-blown concert and a celebration of African excellence.
