Born 6 July, Richard Mofe-Damijo popularly known as RMD is an actor, writer, producer, lawyer, and former journalist. He was also a former Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in Delta State in 2009. Akunyili died at a specialist cancer hospital in India on 7 June 2014 after a two-year battle with uterine cancer.
