Popular Nigerian disc jockey Florence Otedola, aka DJ Cuppy, has admitted that what seemed normal to her while growing up is something others wish for.

The billionaire’s daughter shared this on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday.

The 32-year-old singer said she never had to worry about anything as a child, but now sees life differently.

“Growing up, I didn’t fully realize just how privileged I was. I never had to worry about anything, tbh. Thank God I see it now. What felt normal to me is something someone else is praying for. Gratitude changes everything,” she wrote.

Her post has sparked reactions, with some fans praising her self-awareness, while others pointed out the struggles of everyday Nigerians.

DJ Cuppy, daughter of billionaire businessman Femi Otedola, has built a name for herself in entertainment despite her wealthy background.

She has often spoken about her personal journey, including her struggles with finding purpose beyond material success.

In 2022, she completed a master’s degree at Oxford University, an achievement she described as one of her proudest moments.

In 2024, DJ Cuppy became the first British-Nigerian to host an opening session at the United Nations General Assembly, where she spoke on youth leadership and sustainable development.
