He noted that the “Peller” name has its roots in the legendary career of his father, Professor Peller, a celebrated magician who left an indelible mark on Nigerian entertainment.

“The name ‘Peller’ was given to our father as a magician, and it’s a name that the family has adopted since the time of my father,” Shina Peller remarked.

He clarified further: “So, Peller, the comedian, is not a member of the Peller family. It’s a successful name. He’s just being smart. He’s been able to pop with the name. You can’t blame him, but I can tell you categorically that he’s not a member of the Peller family.”

Shina, who also dabbles in entrepreneurship and philanthropy, acknowledged the TikToker’s cleverness in leveraging the family name to gain popularity, describing it as a strategic move, but he firmly denied any familial ties.

The clarification comes at a time when many Nigerians have been speculating about a connection between the viral content creator and the Professor Peller dynasty, which is widely recognised for its influence on Nigerian magic and entertainment.

In 1966, Professor Peller held his first post-training show at the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos, before his untimely death in 1997.
