A TikTok user, simply identified as @nurse_chioma, has debunked claims suggesting that Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, visited Agbor, Delta State, where nursing students were seen rejecting her as “our mother” in a now-viral video.

In a video posted on Thursday, the young lady, who identified herself as a student of Delta State College of Nursing, Agbor, said the event in question was held in Asaba, not Agbor as widely reported.
“Firstly, the event was not held in Agbor. It was held in Asaba,” she said.
“If you look at that video closely, you will see the location clearly showing Asaba.”

Her statement comes after a video posted on Wednesday captured a group of nursing students chanting “Na your mama be this,” in response to an MC who had introduced the First Lady as “our mother” during her visit to the state.
The students’ rejection of the label sparked a frenzy on social media, with many interpreting it as a subtle protest against the hardship under the Tinubu administration.

But @nurse_chioma said the narrative had been twisted.
“My school, Delta State College of Health Sciences, Eku, Warri, Sapele, and the School of Midwives, Asaba, were all present. Even staff nurses, midwives, and government officials were there, including our governor and his wife,” she explained.

On the controversial chant, the student nurse clarified that while the MC had asked the crowd to sing along, students from Agbor did not actively join in.
“Yes, we (Agbor nursing students) sang because he asked us to sing along, but we did not sing ‘Na your mama be this,’” she said.
“We beg you in God’s name. They’re just trying to tarnish our image.”

She also distanced herself and her school from the original poster of the viral video, stating:
“I don’t know the girl that posted that video and captioned it that the First Lady came to Agbor. Please disregard that information. She did not come to Agbor.”
Senator Oluremi Tinubu was in Delta State on Wednesday as part of her Renewed Hope Initiative outreach, where she donated professional kits and engaged with traditional rulers in the state.

While the Presidency has yet to respond to the viral chant, the incident has already fuelled fresh debate online.
