13 students of Zamfara University kidnapped by gunmen rescued

Sixteen kidnapped victims, comprising 13 students of the Federal University of Gusau, Zamfara and three construction workers, have regained their freedom so far.

Sixteen kidnapped victims, comprising 13 students of the Federal University of Gusau, Zamfara and three construction workers, have regained their freedom.

Recall that troops of the Nigerian army had earlier rescued six of the kidnapped students of the Federal University.

Last week Friday, unknown gunmen invaded the Sabon-Gida community of the Bungudu Local Government Area in Zamfara.

Following the attack, it was gathered that about 24 students, mostly female, were kidnapped by the bandits
Sabon-Gida village is a community opposite the main campus of the Federal University of Gusau that is about 20 km from the state capital, Gusau.

A resident of Sabon-Gida, Nazeer Sabon-Gida, explained that the bandits invaded the community around 3 a.m. and started shooting indiscriminately.
