Her father, Owoicho Ebute said the young lady constantly fell ill for almost two years before she was finally diagnosed with the disease.

“She was constantly getting sick over two years ago when she was in school, so she called me that she was diagnosed with kidney failure, so we brought her to Lagos and we started dialysis at the Dialyzer Specialist Medical Centre, Oshodi, Lagos.

“It has been a hard time for my family, we have spent a lot before the result finally showed what caused her to fall sick regularly. Now, we do dialysis two to three times a week which cost N50,000 weekly, aside from that, we have spent a lot on drugs. I am here because I can no longer bear the financial burden.

“We have tried not to escalate it, my daughter didn’t want us to go public because she felt it was embarrassing. My employer gave me a lot too but it got to a point where no one can sustain the giving. I have spent above N5 million, I spend not less than N150, 000 a week and we began the dialysis early this year.”

The medical report from the centre signed by the Medical Director, Prof. J.O Awobusuyi stated: “Miss Ebute Divine is a 22-year-old student with kidney failure, who is presently undergoing dialysis in our facility. In view of the survival advantage and improvement in the quality of life associated with kidney transplant, we have recommended it for her.

The estimated cost of the surgery is N15 million.

When The Guardian contacted Prof. Awobusuyi, he said: “We have been attending to her for some months. Her two kidneys are affected.

When The Guardian visited the home of the parents at 16, Igbehyinadun, Oshodi, Lagos, DivineFavour said: “I was diagnosed with failure on both kidneys while I was in school. My mates are serving right now. I was in my final year. I am begging Nigerians to come to my aid,

I want to live like a normal person.”
She appealed to the general public to help her financially to do the surgery.
Her father could be reached on 07043250687, while assistance could be made to Zenith Bank No: 2211818153, Name: Ebute DivineFavour.
