The Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland, Otunba Gani Adams, has berated the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari for lacking direction to lead the country, especially in the area of security.

The Aare Onakankanfo said leadership was Nigeria’s biggest problem and not religion or ethnicity.

Adams, who spoke in Lagos yesterday, blamed Buhari for the security situation in the country, saying the recent abduction of about 400 students in a school in Katsina State was clear evidence of the porous security situation.

According to him: “The present administration under Buhari has failed to address the spate of insecurity. With the present situation in the country, it is no doubt that the call for restructuring is long overdue.”

He said there was no gainsaying that Nigeria is at a crossroad, as what we are currently facing is a pointer to the fact that this government has failed.

The Aare Onakankanfo said Buhari should not continue to see the calls for restructuring as a threat, “but a wake- up call from patriotic Nigerians who have sacrificed their time, lives and resources to make the nation great.”
MEANWHILE, Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio, has assured Nigerians that efforts are on to resolve the security challenges confronting the country.

Akpabio, who is a national coordinator of the Presidential National Support Group, during an interaction with the group, said Nigerians need to remain patient with President Buhari over the state of insecurity, saying: “Efforts are on to resolve the security challenges in the country.

“We should not politicise security. President Muhammadu Buhari is not resting on his oars to ensure full security for the entire nation.”
