Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke will tonight address the people of the state, a step that signals the conclusion of his rally after his campaign council called-off Accord Party’s mega rally.

The Deputy Director-General of Imole Campaign Council, Kolapo Alimi, confirmed this on Thursday while speaking with our correspondent on telephone.

Alimi said the governor would be live on air as no fewer than 15 radio stations would be transmitting the programme.

He revealed that the radio programme would start by 8:00pm, adding that radio stations including the Osun State Broadcasting Corporation, Rave FM, Diamond FM, Fresh FM among others would be uniting to air it.

Alimi, who doubles as the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightrment, said other key figures in the campaign council and Accord Party would be with the governor on air.

“This is more than a broadcast; it is a conversation about leadership, vision, achievements, and the road ahead. The people are listening, and the message is clear,” another member of the campaign council, Seun Adeoye, stated in a post he shared.

Asked why the campaign council failed to hold its planned mega rally in Osogbo on Wednesday, Alimi explained that it was called off due to mounting security concerns and confusion created in approving the Mandala Freedom Park, the proposed venue for the campaign grand finale.

The deputy Campaign Council DG said the team confronted challenges on the day the event would hold, saying the All Progressives Congress had earlier claimed it was going to organise its mega rally on same day.

Efforts by the Police Command to resolve the issue were not successful as according to Alimi, the federal government through the Railway Corporation laid claim to being major share owner of the Freedom Park and appeared to want to satisfy the APC.

He said the Council later chose Fakunle open field but it later received security reports that Accord members might be attacked during the rally.

“So, we have to call it off. We have already gone across all towns and villages in Osun and our governor has canvassed for votes and our people have assured the governor that he will be voted overwhelmingly come Saturday,” Alimi said.
