In commemoration of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) golden jubilee, the Regular Course, RC 5, has donated an e-library worth N25 million to the academy.

The library was donated to encourage reading culture among the cadets, and to enable them combine technology and information resources for quality education.

Chairman of the NDA RC 5, Gen. Felix Mujakperuo (rtd.), said that the library was designed to provide a comfortable environment for cadets, post-graduate students and other users.

Mujakperuo, who is the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom, Delta State, recalled that of the 43 NDA cadets that started the programme in 1968, only 29 were alive to witness the 50th anniversary.

“During our service years in the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, we were given opportunities for further training in the military and other civil courses.

“The outcome of this kind gesture on the part of government afforded many of us the leverage to a higher pedestal in life, especially after retirement,” he added.
