The National Deputy Financial Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Adamu kamale, yesterday, said that Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom’s comments on the former Vice president and PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, were reported out of context.
Kamale, who spoke to journalists in his hometown in Yola, said Ortom’s seeking God’s directions on Atiku couldn’t be translated to not supporting the party’s presidential candidate.
The former House of Representatives member representing Michika/Madagali Federal Constituency in Adamawa State (Kamale) said that everyone that worships God seeks His approval in whatever mission he wants to embark on.
“All of us always seek God’s approval to do this and that, and we also ask God to show us the right way. So, I don’t know how Governor Ortom’s comment has translated to not supporting Atiku. All the media reports I read did not quote the Ortom saying he was not supporting Atiku,” he stated.
Kamale pointed out that Ortom, Governor Nyesome Wike of Rivers State and former Ekiti Governor, Ayo Fayose, are strongly behind PDP rescuing Nigerians from the claws of the All Progressives Congress (APC) government.
“After the presidential primary election, Wike visited Atiku and he (Atiku) returned the visit. The presidential project is the project of all PDP governors. All of them heavily invested in it and they cannot afford to abandon it halfway when the harvest time is very close,” he said.
He blamed some of the complaints by PDP top notches on the gap in the management of victory after the presidential primary.
Kamale, who expressed confidence that the National Chairman of PDP, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, has the capability to bring together all the aggrieved party stakeholders, pointed out that Nigerians are looking up to PDP to save the country from the pandemic called APC.
