Court remands herder for alleged culpable homicide
An FCT High Court in Kubwa, on Monday, ordered that a herder, Babangida Bature be remanded in a correctional centre for alleged culpable homicide.
The police charged Bature, who resides in Kuje, with culpable homicide.
He pleaded not guilty.
Justice Bello Kawu adjourned the matter until May 16 for hearing.
Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Fatima Shehu told the court that the defendant caused the death of Mr Abdulrasheed Sani of Kuje, Abuja, on June 14, 2019.
Shehu said the defendant struck the victim on the beck with a cutlass in the Fulani Camp, Kuje.
The offence, she said, contravened the provisions of Section 220 and punishable under 221 of the Penal Code.
