Executive Secretary of Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD), Sharon Ikeazor, has won this year’s Africa Pension Personality of the Year (CEO Leadership Category) Gold award.

Other institutions nominated for the award include: Government Pensions Administration Agency (GPAA), South Africa; Metropolitan Pensions Trust Ghana Limited, Ghana; and Axis Pension Group, Ghana.

Corporate organisations that won other categories are Modion Communication, Propertymart, Vitafoam Nigeria and STL Trustees.

According to AFA 2019, the selection was done with input from pension industry analysts, corporate executives and finance experts from six African countries, including Ghana, South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, Cameroon and Sierra Leone.

The countries selected the winners in all categories including CEO Awards, West Africa Award among others.

Organisers disclosed that the award was in recognition of her contributions to the development of the industry and positive changes she brought to PTAD.

Ikeazor, who was appointed executive secretary of PTAD by President Muhammadu Buhari on September 26, 2016, brought with her the legacy of integrity, passion for service and humanity.

Management of PTAD stated yesterday that Ikeazor was able to identify areas in need of critical changes in the directorate and took appropriate measures that changed the negative story of pension administration under Defined Benefit Scheme to a positive one.

She will be presented with the award at a ceremony slated for March 29, 2019 at Sheraton Hotel and Towers, Lagos.
