Osun: Adeleke announces 37-member transition committee

The Governor-Elect of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, has constituted a 37-member Transition Committee to facilitate a smooth transition between the incumbent and the newly elected administration in the state.

The Governor-Elect of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, has constituted a 37-member Transition Committee to facilitate a transition from the incumbent to the newly elected government.

Spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Osun State Oladele Bamiji disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.

Bamiji disclosed that the transition committee to be inaugurated by Adeleke on Thursday is made up of seasoned technocrats, public office holders, and experts from diverse fields.

He added that the committee is to be chaired by Muyiwa Oladimeji, a doctor of nuclear medicine and a fellow of the Euro Institute of Reticulo-endothelial Biology & Medicare while the director-general of Ademola Adeleke Campaign Organisation, Hon. Sunday Bisi will serve as deputy chairman.

The Secretary of the transition committee is a serving member of the House of Representatives who is also a legal practitioner, Hon. Bamidele Salam to be assisted by a project management expert, Adekunle Adepoju.

Adeleke defeated the incumbent governor and the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Gboyega Oyetola during the state governorship election on Saturday, 16 July.

The PDP candidate polled 403,371 votes while Oyetola polled 375,027 votes. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Adeleke as the winner on 17th July.
