Police nab two armed robbery suspects, cultist in Delta

Operatives of Delta State Police Command, yesterday, arrested two armed robbery suspects and a 41-year-old suspected cultist at different locations in the state.
   
The State Police Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Bright Edafe told The Guardian that the two armed robbery suspects were arrested on April 5, at about 1630hrs in their criminal hideout along Oleh road, Ozoro in Isoko North Local council of the state.

   
He said the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Ozoro Division,  received a distress call that some hoodlums numbering about seven, suspected to be armed robbers, were in a criminal hideout along Oleh road, Ozoro. 
     
According to him, the DPO of Ozoro Police Station mobilised a combined team of police operatives and vigilantes, who stormed their hideout and arrested Solomon Awah Obaize, ‘m’, 18 and Oghenayoma Awah, ‘m’, 20, both residents in Oleh.    
   
The Police Spokesperson said, one local-made Beretta pistol was recovered from them, noting that the gun was procured from a man (Name unknown) in Igbide community, for N160, 000.
  
He said the police are trailing the five fleeing suspects.
 
Edafe also confirmed the arrest of one Oaman Mathias, a suspected cultist at Umudiake Quarters, Aningene Community Asaba, in Oshimili South Local Council.
 
He stated that the 41-year-old man was arrested with one English-made pump action gun and 33 live cartridges, while the matter is being investigated.
