As the new academic session commences tomorrow in Lagos State, Pepc Foundation, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) based in Nigeria and the United States has donated back-to-school packs to over 5, 000 pupils across the state.

The gesture tagged: “Back to School Initiative,” is aimed at encouraging students to go to school. The educational items include school bags, socks, branded exercise books, calculators, pencils, pens, erasers, and sharpeners.

The Founder of the Pepc Foundation, Luqman Akinsanya, while speaking during the kick-off of the exercise at Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA), said that the gesture was part of the foundation’s annual educational support for schoolchildren’s resumption annually.

“This is our first port of call this year. We are happy about that because it is a good start. It’s quite overwhelming for me because you hardly see things like this. Moving forward, I want to promise that this will not be our last visit here. We would continue to partner with you and show our love.

“I want you to understand something today, that it’s not all about the school packs that you are given, but about how much attention you should pay in class. You must make sure that you listen to your parents and teachers.

The Chairman, Lekki LCDA, Rasaki Bamidele Kasali, expressed appreciation to the foundation for the gesture and appealed for more support for the council.

“The Pepc foundation deserves our appreciation for whatever they brought, God will continue to bless them. Like Oliver Twists, we will continue to ask for more.”
