Senator (Barr.) Neda Bernards Imasuen, who represents Edo South Senatorial District in Nigeria’s 10th Senate, has been selected to receive the prestigious Distinguished Achievement in Legislative Excellence and Democratic Governance Award at the 2026 African Achievers Awards.

In a formal letter dated June 11, 2026, the organisers announced that Senator Imasuen was unanimously chosen by an independent panel of judges in recognition of his outstanding contributions to legislative development, democratic governance and public service.

The award will be presented at the 2026 African Achievers Awards ceremony scheduled for July 22, 2026, at the House of Lords in London, where distinguished leaders from Africa and across the globe will be honoured for exceptional accomplishments in their respective fields.

The invitation, signed by Selorm Kofi Dake, Co-Chair of the Screening Committee, described Senator Imasuen as a leader whose dedication, integrity and commitment to excellence have made a significant impact within his profession and society at large.

According to the organisers, recipients of the award are individuals who exemplify ethical leadership, resilience and a commitment to sustainable development while inspiring positive change and setting high standards of excellence.

The event will be hosted by Lord Simon Woolley, a Life Peer and Lord Temporal in the House of Lords, and is expected to attract prominent policymakers, business leaders, diplomats and changemakers from across Africa and beyond.
