SIR: There are some questions trending on social media among which is “who is Bola Ahmed Tinubu”? A good question from some of them with bad intentions.

Yes! Bola Ahmed Tinubu has his political baggage just like everyone else. Or, just like all political nymphs amongst us, be it for him or against him, this individual remains a political enigma in the history of Nigeria. His policies and the products of his government as Governor of Lagos State and after had always been the best choices of the people. Tinubu introduced government of inclusiveness with no state of origin, party affiliation, tribal or religious sentiments but qualifications of people (Nigerians) with incredible credentials.

Tinubu’s resourcefulness and mobilisation are products of the new norm we are enjoying and celebrating today. Jagaban, as he’s fondly called, is a political force to reckon with in our political clime. The characters in PDP are hypocritically celebrating the ascension of Saraki as Senate President, they forgot that the “victory” of Senator Saraki for APC is a means to an end for PDP and not an end to itself.

Bola Tinubu is a solid and quintessential man who has achieved and brought to fore the foundation of the formidable and indefatigable struggles of our past heroes and nationalists. He is also one of the catalysts and symbols of change in Nigeria. A phenomenon we will not love to hate. We may not like Tinubu’s political persona but his achievements in Lagos State and his struggles for the emancipation of the people of Nigeria to me are unquestionable. We all remember his patriotic and risky roles as a member of NADECO in the inglorious days of Babangida and sociopath Abacha.

We might not like some of his personal ambitions and his other political exigencies, but the man undoubtedly remains a formidable force in the history of change in Nigeria. Jagaban also remains undisputably a “timber and caliber”, a somebody to everybody in our quest to see a Nigeria of our dreams.
