Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu have emerged as the oldest presidential candidates on the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) final list for the 2027 presidential election.

The final list, containing 18 presidential candidates and their running mates, shows that Atiku, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, is 79 years old, while Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate and incumbent president, is 74.

The list, titled “Presidential and National Assembly Elections for Jan, 2027 – Presidential Final List of Candidates,” was signed by INEC Secretary, Rose Oriaran-Anthony.

Atiku, who was born in 1946, is seeking the presidency for the sixth time, while Tinubu, born in 1952, is seeking a second term in office.

They are followed by .the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, who is 65, while the presidential candidate of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), Daniel Nwanyanwu, is 66.

The list also puts former governor of Cross River State and presidential candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Donald Duke, at 64, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Sandy Onor, is 60.

Other candidates include APM’s Oluseyi Makinde, 58; African Action Congress (AAC) candidate, Omoyele Sowore, 55; Action Peoples Party (APP) candidate, Kabiru Yusuf, 54; Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate, Adewole Adebayo, 54; and Young Progressives Party (YPP) candidate, Peter Ada Agada, 54.

Sunday Adenuga of the Boot Party (BP) is 52, while Ada Elizabeth Okwori of the National Democratic Party (NDP) is 48.
The youngest presidential candidate on the list is Moses Olusoji Adebisi of the Democratic Labour Alliance (DLA), who is 35 years old.

The list also includes Nkem Esther Okereke of the National Rescue Movement (NRM), 43; Sunday Chibuzo Okereke of the Labour Party (LP), 43; and Abbas-Bin Aliyu of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), 44.

Rufai Adekunle Omo-Aje of AA Nigeria is 71, while Yusuf Kabiru of the APP is 54.

The 2027 presidential election is scheduled for January 16, 2027, according to INEC’s election timetable.
