A former Presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), SKC Ogbonnia, said on Thursday that re-electing President Bola Tinubu in 2027 is an “existential threat”, insisting that Nigerians must not allow it to happen.

Ogbonnia, who described the administration of President Tinubu as the “worst” so far in the country, stated that Nigerians must unite to remove him through the ballot in 2027.

Ogbonnia, who stated this shortly after registering for membership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) at his Owelli/Amoli/Ugbo/Ogugu ward in Awgu local government, Enugu State, added that he decided to join the new political platform to help save the country from catastrophe.

He insisted that a lot of things had gone wrong in Nigeria under the current administration, saying that he would like to play a role to ensuring a better future for the people.

“That is why I am seeking a platform through a united opposition party so that we can win and win well to save Nigeria”, he stated.

He stated that since resigning from the APC in early January this year, he had been searching for a platform “to rescue my ward, for a platform to rescue Enugu West, my local government, my state, and I’ve been searching for a platform to join forces with other Nigerians to Nigeria.”

“So after looking around, going east, north, south and west, I concluded that ADC is the way. So I’ve come home to the ADC, and with ADC, we are going there, and we are going there to win.

“So, I’ve come home to rescue our people from bad governance in the state. We will retire them with immediate effect. We will give you all the tools needed to win, all the protection needed to win.

“This is a global movement, and it’s going to shake those in the lion building. I have a very bad friend, and that is Tinubu, who must vacate the seat. It is going to be Tinubu against the masses of Nigeria”, he stated

Enugu State Chairman of the party, Stella Chukwuma, who registered and received Ogbonnia into the party, stated that the ADC had come to stay.

She said the party was currently receiving defectors from the ruling APC and PDP, and assured that it would be in government in 2027.
