Anambra poll: Izunaso, others to reconcile Andy Uba with aggrieved APC chieftains

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Campaign Council for Anambra Governorship election, Senator Hope Uzodinma has mandated Senator Osita Izunaso to reconcile aggrieved chieftains of the party in the state.

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Campaign Council for Anambra Governorship election, Senator Hope Uzodinma has mandated Senator Osita Izunaso to reconcile aggrieved chieftains of the party in the state.

Led by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the National Inland Waterways Authority, George Moghalu, the aspirants numbering 11, said there was no primary election of the party that produced Senator Andy Uba candidate of the party.

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun state had declared Uba the winner of the primary election with 230, 201 votes while his closest rival, Johnbosco Onunkwo, polled a total of 28,746 votes.

The aspirants who described the result as fraudulent called for a fresh primary election in the state.

But Uzodinma while inaugurating the Izunaso led subcommittee in Abuja believe that Izunaso has the wherewithal to discharge the duty efficiently.

The Imo state governor described Izunaso as a politician with uncommon vast knowledge in political administration and profound connections in the South East and across Nigeria.

Uzodinma expressed optimism that the reconciliatory and special duties committee would bring all the critical stakeholders together and mobilize other notable indigenes of Anambra State effectively for a smooth, grand success for APC in the gubernatorial election.

Uzodinma listed others as Deputy Chairman National campaign council, H.E Engr Dave Umahi, Executive Governor of Ebonyi state, Special interventions, Chairman-H.E Gov Abubarkar Badaru of Jigawa state.

Others are Finance, Chairman H.E Gov Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos state, Security H.E Gov Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, Election Monitoring, Chairman-H.E Chief Timipre Silva, Hon Minister of State, Petroleum, Strategy, Chairman-High chief Ikechi Emenike and Chief Paul Chukwuma as Director-General.
