The All Progressives Congress has postponed its primary election for the House of Representatives ahead of the 2027 general election.

In a revised timetable released by the party, the primary election earlier scheduled for Friday, May 15, was shifted by one day to Saturday, May 16, 2026.

The adjustment was announced in a statement signed by Felix Morka.

The party, however, retained all other dates in its primary election schedule.

Under the revised timetable, the Senate primary election will hold on Monday, May 18, while the State House of Assembly primary is scheduled for Wednesday, May 20.

The governorship primary election will take place on Thursday, May 21, while the presidential primary is slated for Saturday, May 23.

The APC did not provide any official reason for the postponement of the House of Representatives primary.

The development comes as political parties intensify preparations for the 2027 general election.
