The All Progressives Congress (APC) chapter in the United States has congratulated the party’s National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, and the newly elected members of the National Working Committee (NWC) on their successful election, describing the outcome as a reflection of widespread confidence in the party’s leadership.
In a statement issued on behalf of the Diaspora community, Professor Taiwo Ajibolu Balofin, APC USA Chairman and Special Adviser to the APC National Chairman on Diaspora Affairs, hailed the convention as a testament to the party’s commitment to internal democracy and unity.
He emphasized that the process demonstrated the trust reposed in Professor Yilwatda and the NWC by stakeholders across the country and abroad.
Professor Balofin particularly commended Professor Yilwatda for his efforts in stabilizing and uniting the party within a relatively short period in office.
He noted that the National Chairman’s re-election underscored the confidence members have in his leadership, describing it as well-deserved recognition of his dedication and strategic approach to party administration.
Highlighting the role of the Diaspora in the APC’s broader agenda, APC USA expressed satisfaction with initiatives aimed at engaging members abroad.
Professor Balofin urged all chapters overseas to actively participate in and support the vision and objectives of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that the Diaspora plays a key role in projecting Nigeria positively on the international stage and promoting the party’s developmental policies.
The APC USA further reassured party stakeholders of its commitment to advancing the policies and initiatives of the party globally.
The group stressed the responsibility of Diaspora members to serve as ambassadors of Nigeria, fostering goodwill, investment, and positive relations internationally.
Addressing internal differences, Professor Balofin appealed to aggrieved members within the Diaspora to utilize established conflict resolution mechanisms to resolve disputes, emphasizing the importance of peace, dialogue, and constructive engagement.
He reiterated the chapter’s dedication to strengthening collaboration between Diaspora members and the party leadership, highlighting ongoing efforts to ensure that the voices of Nigerians abroad are integrated into the party’s strategic plans.
The statement concluded by affirming APC USA’s readiness to support party initiatives and reinforce unity, with a commitment to contributing to the APC’s growth and the nation’s development, both within Nigeria and across the global Diaspora community.
