The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has said that Governor Ademola Adeleke’s reported criticism of the alleged economic blueprint of its governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, was borne out of fear of losing the August 8 gubernatorial election.
The party argued that the economic blueprint being touted by Governor Adeleke and the Peoples Democratic Party/Accord Party exists only in their imagination.
In a statement issued on Monday by the APC Director of Media and Information in Osun State, Kola Olabisi, the party said Oyebamiji was ready to restore good governance and effective socio-economic development, which it claimed had eluded the state since the Adeleke administration came into office.
The statement read: “Assuming without conceding that our governorship candidate, popularly known as AMBO, has prepared his economic blueprint, he is sufficiently educated, knowledgeable and exposed to adequately explain in it how he intends to correct the copious verifiable wrong policies of the Adeleke government for lack of not knowing what to do and when to do it.
“We want to state without mincing words that any time AMBO intends to prepare his economic blueprint, it is going to be a walk-over as it is a familiar terrain to him, unlike a governor who has become a source of ridicule to the state because he is a stranger to his government which is being run for him by proxy.”
While maintaining that right-thinking people of the state are now wiser and fed up with what it described as subterfuge, which it said has become the hallmark of the Adeleke administration, the APC added that nothing could save the governor from losing the August 8, 2026 governorship election.
According to the statement: “To state that Governor Adeleke is grossly exhibiting the loss of confidence in the forthcoming governorship election is not an overstatement but a statement of fact, as his conduct can be likened to someone who is manifesting the trait of death before his imminent death.
“We are not unaware of the character whose imbecilic administration is a reflection of his personality, in line with an aphorism that one cannot give what he does not possess, as it is reflecting in the series of Adeleke’s maladministration and socio-economic cum political somersaults which are negatively impacting on the innocent people of Osun State.
“The people of the state are now aware that Governor Adeleke and his cohorts have been unfortunately occupying the political theatre of the State of the Virtuous for the past three years to merely deceive the innocent people, as his best in office has refused to impact the state positively in any form simply because his government does not have any economic blueprint but is running the state by impulse.”
