FUTO alumni plan N220m staff estate
Towards giving back to the institution, the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), Alumni Association has announced intention to build a 20-unit housing blocks for staff of the institution.
President of the association, Ndubuisi Chijioke, an engineer, disclosed this at the ground-breaking ceremony held at the institution’s staff quarters recently.
According to Chijioke, the project, which will be completed in 12 months, and gulp N220 million .
Chijioke, said the choice to build the apartments was informed by the feed back the association got from the authorities of the institution on the immediate areas they could intervene, disclosing that the buildings would comprise of four-bedroom, three semi -detached units .
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Francis Eze in his remarks, expressed gratitude to the association’s gesture and promised to work towards ensuring the increase of the units.
