African Women in Tourism to take centre stage at Akwaaba 2017

Africa’s tourism ministers and female CEO’s of tourism boards will be at the Women in Tourism discussion at the 13th Akwaaba African Travel Market 2017.

Africa’s tourism ministers and female CEO’s of tourism boards will be at the Women in Tourism discussion at the 13th Akwaaba African Travel Market 2017.

According to a statement by the Organiser of the Akwaaba African Travel Market, the session, themed: Women in Tourism; Challenges and the Future will allow leading women in tourism to discuss on the various challenges facing women in tourism and moves towards the curbing these challenges for now and the future.

There have been a rising number of young female tour operators in the Nigerian tourism and across the world Lots of the major players are Women. This session will also serve as mentorship and empowerment for young women in tourism to learn skills and ways to thrive in this very challenging but lucrative business of tourism.

With the rising population of women over the male population in Africa, a lot can be achieved when they come together. This session is therefore going to deliver mentorship, empowerment, networking and partnership within the tourism business environment.

This year’s event will also feature the recognition of some leading Women in Tourism across Africa, the organisers have also hinted that this recognition will take place at the opening dinner of the fair.

AKWAABA African Travel Market is scheduled to hold on the September 10 – 12 at the Eko Hotel & Suites Lagos.
