Again, 30 people get rewarded with N7.5 million in radio show

As the year gradually winds down and Christmas approaches, another set of 30 entrepreneurs in Onitsha, Anambra State have been rewarded with a total of N7.5 million through the ongoing entrepreneurial talent hunt and mentoring radio programme, Life Progress Booster Show, which is targeted at helping talented, innovative businessmen and women in the South-East.

The radio show, which kicked off in 2015 is an initiative of Life Continental Lager Beer, a brand from Nigerian Breweries Plc. As a project reinforcement of the heritage embedded in the Life Continental Lager, its essence and connection with the South-East consumers, has rewarded about 150 entrepreneurs from South East commercial hubs like Nnewi, Enugu, Owerri, Aba and Abakaliki with 37.5 million Naira so far this year.

The entrepreneurs were presented their cheques of 250,000 Naira at gig like event, which held on November 27, 2016 at the Sweet Garden on Park Road, GRA, Onitsha. Assistant Brand Manager, Regional Mainstream Brands NB Plc, Josiah Akinola noted that the Life Progress Booster Show is actualising its objective of nurturing and encouraging entrepreneurs from the South East, while also creating a platform for budding businessmen and women to present their proposals and transform their ideas to realities.

“The Progress Booster Show was initiated to raise more entrepreneurs and self-dependent individuals in South East Nigeria. The average South-Easterner is driven by business and commercial opportunities, and the region is highly regarded as an excellent environment for businesses. Throughout the year, the Life Continental Beer brand has focused on empowering our consumers, and we have shown willingness and dedication to contribute to their successes and achievements,” he said.

Singer and Brand Ambassador, Life Continental Beer, Chinedu Okoli popularly known as Flavour made a special guest appearance at the event to the delight of guests.

Other participants at the event were also not left out as many went away with consolation prizes such as bags of rice, gallons of oil, courtesy of Life Continental Beer.

To make up the list of 30 winners, 20 of the lucky entrepreneurs were selected during the live programme, where people call in to pitch their business ideas, while the other 10 winners were selected for their ideas at the venue of the cheque presentation ceremony after on-the-spot screening of proposals of participants.

The show, airs on Hot 99.5 FM, Owerri every Saturday 7:30 – 8:30pm; Odenigbo 99.1 FM, Obosi every Friday 7:30 – 8:30pm; Family Love 103.9 FM, Umuahia every Saturday 7:30 – 8:30 PM and Solid 100.9 FM, Enugu every Friday 7:30 – 8:30pm.
