Femi Kuti preaches peace, unity in one people, one world
Afrobeat maestro, Femi Anikulapo-Kuti, has unveiled first single off his upcoming album One People One World. In the song also titled One People One World, the ‘Ararara’ exponent focuses on his characteristic approach of poking at the consciousness of an indifferent world.
“Let’s settle our differences, it’s time to leave in peace, exchange cultural differences, that’s the way it should be,” he sang.The Bang Bang crooner in the song also preached against racism while promoting love, unity, peace and acceptance of differences by all and sundry across the world.
According to the saxophonist, the project is his 10th studio album; it will be released February 23, 2018 via Knitting Factory Records and distributed in Nigeria by Chocolate City Music.
Kuti serves as a spokesperson for UNICEF advocating for children’s rights, and is a promoter of HIV/AIDS prevention and education. He and his band, Positive Force, recorded much of the album in Lagos.
“I hope this album brings joy, love, equal opportunity, justice, peace, understanding and togetherness to the world,” he told Billboard in an email.
