Islimfit inspires young Nigerian tech professionals

Eshraq Jiad once said that, “helping others reach their dreams and get to the point in their life where they are finally happy with everything is the moment I live for.” Adewale Adetona, fondly referred to as Islimfit, stands true to Jiad’s value, even as it becomes increasingly difficult with each passing day to find individuals with golden hearts.

Islimfit, a marketing and strategic communications expert, has been leading the public discourse on driving the Nigerian tech industry to the next level.

The digital technologist’s passion embodies impacting the lives of young Nigerian entrepreneurs in the industry, advocating conducive and enabling environment.

The Lagos Digital Summit (LDS) convener has continued to launch platforms to deepen the development of technology in the country. Islimfit’s vlog entitled ‘Tech Chat with iSlimfit’, in which he posts insightful conversations with tech experts is a vivid example of what he aims to achieve.

It was, however, not until recently when Islimfit revealed the motive behind the idea.

“My desire to make an impact and contribute to the growth of upcoming tech professionals birthed the YouTube Channel. Also, I wanted to replicate what I do offline with Lagos Digital Summit in an online manner”, Islimfit said in a recent question and answer interactive  session.

Continuing, Islimfit said: “The Vlog is basically a series of YouTube chat series where I bring various people in Tech – growth marketers, UI/UX designers, product managers, Startup founders, Mobile App developers etc – to share their career journey, background, transitioning, their career journey, learnings, and general questions about their day-to-day job so that Tech enthusiasts can learn from their expertise”.

Advising youths in the country, Islimfit said they should equip themselves “with relevant digital skills.”

He added: “The world has evolved and youth all over the world are now positioning themselves for jobs in tech, all thanks to the advent of digital technology.”
