Valentine’s Day came early in Lagos when a lineup of Nollywood celebrities and guests from the entertainment industry, media personalities, influencers, and film lovers graced the premiere of the highly anticipated film ‘Love And New Notes’ last Sunday, February 8, 2026, at the Filmhouse IMAX Cinema, Lekki.
Love And New Notes, which is set for nationwide cinema release from February 13, 2026, positions itself as a must-watch film for the Valentine season telling a deeply human story about love, responsibility, and the decisions people make when faced with real-life challenges. Through compelling characters and layered storytelling, the film explores how love is tested, shaped, and sometimes complicated by circumstance.
The film, which explores themes of love, choice, consequence, and the complex realities that shape human relationships is produced by Muyiwa Idowu, Co – Produced by FilmOne Studios, Distributed by FilmOne Entertainment & FilmTribe Media and directed by Kayode Kasum.
The star-studded premiere was attended by Timini Egbuson who was the host of the evening, Funke Akindele, Lateef Adedimeji, Don Jazzy, Lil Kesh, and other notable industry leaders.
As the evening climaxed to an electrifying night celebrating Nigerian cinema, guests experienced an immersive screening that sparked heartfelt reactions and meaningful conversations around the film’s emotional depth and contemporary relevance.
Beyond the screening, the evening doubled as a vibrant celebration of Nigerian storytelling and culture. The red carpet came alive with bold fashion inspired by the film’s 80s Love & Crime theme, creating a visually striking atmosphere that complemented the cinematic experience.
The cast and crew were also present featuring iconic talents Eniola Badmus and Odunlade Adekola as well as Akinyoola Ayoola (popularly known as Kamo State), Sophie Alakija – who was pleasantly surprised with a birthday celebration during the event, Toluwani George, Constance Owoiyomi, Iyiola Elvis, The Don and Tolu Babs Omish, among others who contributed to bringing the story to life.
Sharing his excitement at the premiere Timini said: “Tonight meant everything to us. Seeing people laugh, feel, and truly connect with the story reminded us why we made this film in the first place. Love And New Notes is a film from the heart, and we can’t wait for more people to experience it in cinemas.”
Director Kayode Kasum also reflected on the making of the film: “This project was built on honesty, emotion, and collaboration.
