Rosatom announces nuclear energy scholarships for Nigerian students, others

Russian nuclear energy Corporation, Rosatom has announced that applications are now open for scholarships in nuclear energy studies for Nigerians and students from the rest of Africa.

According to the firm, the aim of the scholarship is to help develop the next generation of nuclear energy experts and engineers interested in studying nuclear energy. The scholarship include, free preparatory courses in Russian language. Beneficiaries would also have access to subsidized accommodation, library funds and be exposed to practicals at Russian nuclear programs.

Explaining the rationale for the scheme, Chief Executive Officer, Rosatom Central and Southern Africa, Dmitry Shornikov, said, “The goal of the scholarship is to support interest in nuclear research and capabilities among young African scientists and engineers.”
