Celebrities including Boma Akpore, Saskay Ladi-Jonah, Elozonam Ogbolu, Tobi Bakare and others recently converged at the Eko Pearl Towers Terrace, Eko Atlantic, Lagos, for the first-ever drone show in Nigeria, as Prime Video Nigeria closed out The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power with a twin event.

Since it was announced in Nigeria, Prime Video has held a series of events to give fans a taste of what it’s made of. It has also offered customers in Nigeria a selection of popular global Amazon Originals like The Boys, The Terminal List, and now The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, plus Nollywood movies from leading production studios such as Inkblot, Anthill, and Nemsia in addition to the local Nigerian originals.

Also, local productions build on recent film deals made by Prime Video, including an exclusive commissioning slate deal with Nemsia Films for three feature films, beginning with Breath of Life, launching next year.

The increased investment in local production with two local Amazon originals for Nigerian customers, Gangs of Lagos and LOL: Last One Laughing Naija, comes as the brand launches the first of many locally produced marketing campaigns for Nigeria.

Prime Video also reiterated its continued commitment to the Nigerian TV and film industry, bringing the very best of authentic, homegrown stories to not only its customers in Nigeria but also Prime Video members around the world.

The event saw hundreds of drones light up the sky in a dazzling display, as one of the world’s leading online streaming services showed Nigerians that it knows how to put on a good show and give fans a truly unforgettable experience.

First with the Prime Video launch event, then with the watch parties for The Rings of Power season debut, and with the celebrations of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power finale, the drones formed the shape of the ring, which is the symbol of power in the Lord of the Rings universe.

The series, based on the J.R.R. Tolkien novels, is set in the fictional world of Middle-earth and follows an ensemble cast of characters as they battle the evil Sauron and his army of Orcs.

The drone show was a fitting end to an amazing series. It was an opportunity for fans to come together and celebrate their love for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.
