Singer Teniola Apata, widely known by her stage name Teni, Teni the Entertainer or Teni Makanaki, on Monday, August 26, set the social media, Twitter in particular buzzing, as she took the number one spot on the trend chart with her dope freestyle skills with Jamaican raggae and dancehall singer, Kranium in a new video.

This freestyle gathered and is gathering tons of reactions from Twitter users, as most called for a collab from both artistes, not just due to their talent but also to the perfect blend of their sounds.

The self-proclaimed Lagos ‘sugar mummy’ and younger sister of singer Niniola, released her debut single Amen while signed to Shizzi’s Magic Fingers Records. She left the record label and signed with Dr. Dolor Entertainment in 2017.

Teni started gaining prominence after releasing the single Fargin in September 2017. She made her breakthrough after releasing the hit singles Askamaya, Case and Uyo Meyo. Askamaya was ranked 15th on MTV Base’s year-end list of the Top 20 Hottest Naija Tracks of 2018.

She was listed among the ‘Six Nigerian breakout stars, viral sensations of 2018’ by Premium Times, an online newspaper.

Inspired by anything around her, Teni’s music is versatile. On February 20 this year, Teni was featured on YouTube Music’s Trending Artiste on the Rise. On May 3, she released the video for Sugar Mummy, and followed with Power Ranger on June 14.
