Tinubu, Kola Abiola, Sanwo-Olu honour Hamzat at father’s burial


Late Oba Mufutau Hamzat

National leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and governor-elect of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Monday attended the funeral of Oba Mufutau Hamzat, father of deputy governor-elect, Obafemi Hamzat.

Others at the event include Speaker of the State Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, several Members of Assembly and Kola Abiola, son of the late billionaire politician, MKO Abiola.

The late traditional ruler of Afowowa Kingdom in Ewekoro Council of Ogun State died on Sunday night at the age of 86. During his lifetime, Pa Hamzat was a prominent Lagos politician in the First Republic and was a leader of the Action Group (AG) and the Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) in the Second Republic.

Obafemi described his father as a great man who committed his life to public service.
