3SC fans urge Chelle to try Adegoke in Super Eagles

Qamar Adegoke of 3SC

The call for the national team selectors to try some of the best home-based players in the Super Eagles re-echoed during the week with fans of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) calling on Coach Eric Chelle and his crew to give Qamar Adegoke a look in .

Adegoke is one of the rising stars in the Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL), churning out fantastic displays every matchday in the 35-week-old NPFL.

Such is his style of play and intelligence that the 3SC fans believe that he deserves a place in the Super Eagles team preparing for the Unity Cup in London.

Leader of the fans, Mutiu Ijadunola, told the media during the week that Adegoke’s performance in the league has shown that he could be a genuine understudy of Victor Osimhen if encouraged and properly guided.

Adegoke has proven to be the NPFL’s most clinical striker, averaging 0.68 goals per 90 minutes over 29 matches. His predatory instincts thrive even in the NPFL’s defensive climate.

At 21, he offers the stamina for high-pressing systems and the discipline (only one yellow card) required for international stages.

His Market Value is placed at at €491,000, making him the league’s most valuable domestic asset. “London is the perfect “shop window” for his talents. He isn’t just a prospect; he is a specialist right-footed “Number 9” hitting his peak at the ideal time,” Ijadunola said.

He added that it would be unfair for Chelle to ignore Adegoke and deny him the opportunity to showcase his talent in London, when players of less quality make the team.
