The Archbishop of Ibadan Ecclesiastical Province and Bishop of the Diocese of Osun North, Most Rev. Abiodun Taiwo Olaoye has admonished the newly confirmed candidates to always resist sin and flee from every appearance of evil.

He reminded the newly confirmed that the Bible commands Christians to shun carnality and put their trust in God.

The Archbishop said: “Therefore, it is the responsibility of each and everyone of us to determine to do away with sin as Christ has empowered and enabled us by His Holy Spirit.”

At a Joint Diocesan Confirmation Service held, last Sunday, at the Cathedral of St. Michael, Okuku, Olaoye urged them to ensure that they devote themselves to the study of God’s word as well as build a personal prayer life, which will enable them to always participate in the Bible study and prayer meeting programmes scheduled in their parishes.

Noting that participating in all meeting programmes of the church would enhance their growth in the Lord and His service, the cleric advised them to be a good ambassador of Christ anywhere they find themselves.

The newly confirmed candidates went through teachings on Church doctrines, practical Christian living, Christian stewardship given to them in their different parishes as well as a joint retreat organised by the Directorate of Mission, Evangelism and Discipleship for three months.

In attendance at the Confirmation Service were Mama Osun North and Ibadan Province, Mrs. T. O. Olaoye; Clergy of the Diocese.
