To God be the glory. Great things He has done for you and I, and our Nation Nigeria.

The Psalmist, David in blessing God for a miraculous deliverance and confirming his confidence in God of battle, Who fought his fight for him declared, “If it had not been the LORD who was on our side when men rose up against us.

Blessed be the LORD, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth. Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers; the snare is broken, and we are escaped. Our help is in the name of the LORD who made heaven and earth” (Psalm 124:2, 4-8 KJV).

Beloved people of God, indeed, God has been so merciful unto us all, despite challenges of security, economy, socio-political and religious situations in our nation, we still have one Nigeria.

We are praying and will continue to pray for Nigeria that PEACE BE STILL, especially at this POLITICAL ERA.

Beloved, METHODIST CHURCH NIGERIA, DIOCESE OF UYO, is at it again for its 2018 HOREB ANNUAL CONVENTION. It is going to be another great Assembly of God’s people, and it is my joy to welcome you to this unique event at this YULETIDE marking the ultimate gift of God to humanity.

The HOREB CONVENTION usually holds great expectations for participants because of the unfailing benevolence of our great GOD.

HOREB CONVENTION for the Methodist Diocese of Uyo is the highest evangelistic gathering of Christians and non-Christians who come to seek the face of God, to end their thirst, and revive their souls again, and Methodism has continually provided that divine platform for these wise men and women to receive the divine touch and grace to engage, overcome in life and possess their God divinely destined possessions.

In this forth-coming holy convocation, HOREB 2018, from Monday 3rd to Sunday 9th December, 2018 at Immanuel Methodist Cathedral premises, christened PEACE BE STILL (Mark 4:39) with Rev. Dr Uma Ukpai, the Very Rev. Dr Nkechi Nwosu, Evangelist Sir Emma Oha, and many others will be ministering in partnership with the Holy Spirit to reveal God’s mind to His people.

The choice of this theme is in line with the Church’s 2018 theme: ‘STRIVE FOR PEACE AND HOLINESS’, “Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the LORD” (Heb. 12:14).

Further, in line with divine instruction that we all must seek the peace and welfare of the place where we live because in her peace and prosperity shall we also have peace and prosperity.

We need PEACE in our society, so that the nation’s economy can grow. Without peace, we cannot continue with our mission of soul winning and shepherding of flocks.

At every rainfall, there is always peace for the grass, and it’s my prayer that you and everyone that will attend this convention will experience peace in every area of their lives. God will turn your impossibilities to possibilities, and you shall sing a new song. A

t this convention, you will experience the power of God as never before and the miracle that will change the situation of things, the miracle that will wipe your tears, the miracle that will make you burst into laughter and dancing, the miracle that will make even your enemies to say the LORD has done great things for you according to Psalm 126:1, 2. As you read this and prepare to come, may you be visited with a foretaste of that miracle in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

In this convention, God is set to over whelm you with wonders, unravel the source of your afflictions, and facilitate the recovery of whatever you have lost. This convocation is designed to help you commune with God and thereby break and pull down the barriers through prophetic actions.

Therefore, as you come, I urge you to remain focused, maximize the benefits of this Holy Assemblage for yourself, family, and friends for supernatural visitation by the HOLY SPIRIT.

Finally, I prophesy that through this Convention, your hopes for this YULETIDE and the year 2019 shall never be cut short because God has prepared it for your good, for He has made all things beautiful in His time and that time has come.

Therefore, I appeal to you all to draw near to God at this meeting and determine to possess your possession through Christ Jesus, for we are more than conquerors.

Once again, I welcome you to this year’s Convention, HOREB 2018, beginning from tomorrow (3rd December, 2018) for a rewarding and spirit-filled stay in God’s presence. Thank you and God bless.

His Grace The Most Revd. Chimezuo O. N. Nwankpa, Archbishop of Uyo Archdiocese, Methodist Church Nigeria.
