To take the brother by the heels is to level up, that is leverage. Leverage is not to take advantage or cheat others but simply the art that explores opportunities to our advantage.

He took his brother by the heel in the womb, and by his strength he had power with God:  Hosea 12:3
To take the brother by the heels is to level up, that is leverage. Leverage is not to take advantage or cheat others but simply the art that explores opportunities to our advantage. Often, people pay for their ignorance, and pay for services they know nothing about.

He took his brother by the heel…. The heel is the weakest point to bring a man down. We are told of Achilles’ heels, which is figurative of weakness. Genesis 3:15 – Satan bruises our weak points, “heels.”

Dan shall be a serpent by the way, an adder in the path, that biteth the horse heels, so that his rider shall fall backward. Genesis 49:17

And the LORD said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger Genesis 25:23.

God changes whoever He wishes even when we don’t understand – Galatians 1:15. Jacob grabs Esau’s heels from the womb, this he did again when he was hungry and exchange his birthright and he (Jacob) also the heels of Laban that Laban’s son said,
And he heard the words of Laban’s sons, saying, Jacob hath taken away all that was our father’s; and of that which was our father’s hath he gotten all this glory. Genesis 31:1

Jacob has the strength, wisdom and capacity to make use of opportunities to his advantage. To have dominion in life, you must be sensitive to know opportunities giving for your advantage. This does not mean being evil. To succeed in life, you must contend for it.

Rise ye up, take your journey, and pass over the river Arnon: behold, I have given into thine hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land: begin to possess it, and contend with him in battle.

This day will I begin to put the dread of thee and the fear of thee upon the nations that are under the whole heaven, who shall hear report of thee, and shall tremble, and be in anguish because of thee (Deuteronomy 2:24-25)
