Man and his naming power – Part 1
Man has a naming power. He has been given this power from Genesis to be able to give anything a name and that was the name it was. So, God gave man the power to call.
The Power to Call
And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every fowl of the air, and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.
God has given man the power to call things to be, as a man carries God’s image and likeness. Romans 4:17b and calleth those things which be not as though they were, and this He started by giving Adam the power to call the animals any name, and the names Adam chosen were the names in the mind of God, because he was His image and hence had the mind of God, Philippians 2:5, Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.
The Power to Call is:
v The power to create: We have been given the power to create. Because our Father is a Creator, and we have been given that same authority.
v The power to change and remove negativities and curses: As the children of God, we have been given the power to change negative situations, remove negativities and curses both from ourselves and from our environment. Elijah was able to shut heaven for three and a half years and was still able to call back the rain. That same power is still available, today.
Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
v The power to legislate: God has given us the power to pass laws and also to amend and repel existing laws. This is the power of legislation.
And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
v The power to decree a thing: God has also given us the power to make a decree. Kings made decrees and proclamations and it was sealed; not to be changed. We have been made royal priesthoods, a double anointing of being a king and a priest. So, as children of God, when we open our mouth and make decrees, God establishes them.
Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.
v The power with God
v The power of God’s will: Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Those who have the mind of God, can discern what God’s will is, and possess the power to do it.
v The power of pleasing God: God has given us the power to please Him because we were made for His good pleasure.
v The power to God’s angels on assignment: Hebrews 1:14 Are they, not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?
v The power to rule over natural forces: Elijah could call down rain and fire. Joshua could command the sun to stand still, so also other prophets of God could rule over natural forces.
v The power of Grace to influence supernatural forces for a divinely approved purpose.
v The power of divine favour to cause God to establish the decree of God’s beloved Son.
