The morning light

And he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, even a morning without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear shining after rain. 2 Samuel 23:4

It shall be a light of the morning bright and cool. It brings healing; it is bright and clear without clouds, and you can see through it. This kind of light makes things to grow from the earth, it makes for productivity, brightens, brings colour and add value to life.

The type of people that represents this kind of light brings success to people and is also happy at the success of others, because they want to make people succeed. David’s light was never growing dim; it kept shining on to the perfect day.

You cannot talk about light without talking about darkness. The two of them are present in life. Darkness and light can be physical, mental, or spiritual.

• Physical darkness is absence of light. When there is physical darkness, it is difficult to see. You cannot see your path or where you are going, neither can you see danger or danger signs or what is around you. That is why, oftentimes, people call darkness evil.

And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness which may be felt. Exodus 10:21

In Exodus 10:21, God brought darkness on the Egyptians as punishment to them, so they could know that He is the God of the Jews.

• Mental darkness – 2 Corinthians 4:6. Mental darkness is ignorance of spiritual things and lack of understanding.

For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. – 2 Corinthians 4:6.

It is lack of knowledge and understanding, a state of ignorance and information blindness. This leads to social incapacitation and destruction. Lack of knowledge leads to destruction. At this level, you are unproductive, add no value, you become a nuisance and your presence or absence means nothing to men, because it makes no difference.

• Spiritual darkness – This is a first class spiritual state of blindness. You don’t understand the things of God or spiritual things.

Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 

For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man, which is in him? Even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. 

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit, which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 

Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 1 Corinthians 2:8, 11-14

And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables: 

That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them. Mark 4:11-12

He answered and said unto them, because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. Matthew 13:11

It is a state, where spiritual things don’t make sense to you. It is like giving the children’s meat to dog. You are in total darkness, because there is no light in you. It is a state of spiritual dungeon, absence of the reality of God and total separation from God.

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: 1 Peter 2:9.
