The true light – Part 1

Light can be defined as that which makes it possible to see things or make things clearer. Light stimulates growth and gives life. It makes things visible, reveals whatever is hidden and brings about understanding of situations. It is a state of enlightenment. The natural light can be bright or dim. One can say it is fading or failing, when the light capacity gets weak or darkness is coming, as in the evening time.

Also, light makes you to have insight in difficult matters. Without light (a major ingredients for growth of plants) there will be stunted or no growth, which will lead to scarcity or no production of food. All these underscore the importance of light.

I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth. Numbers 24:17 The prophet prophesies Jesus as the star and the light of the world, which gives man access to God. It is important to know that the first word of God in the bible was, ‘Let there be light.’ (Genesis 1:4-5). And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. 

And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. … John 1:4-5 – Jesus is the light of men. Light is unstoppable by any degree of darkness. So, we are unstoppable also.

In Him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. John1: 4-5. When we got saved, we received power to become sons of God (John 1:12). God is light, Jesus is light and we are joint heirs with Christ, so we are light.

Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Mathew 5:14.  You are the light of the world. Light cannot be hidden, so you cannot be hidden. Light is visible, and as a child of God, you are to display the brightness of God. As a reflection of God, you cannot be kept under a bushel or be obscured.

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father, which is in heaven. Mathew 5: 16. 
Our lives are to shine as a light, an example to the world. We are His brightness that men should see and give God glory. We were once not shining, but now after salvation, we should glow.But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. Proverbs 4:18
