FG loses N65.4b in revenue as average energy hits 3,464MW in October
Although there were no reports of grid collapse last month, power generation from the nation’s generating companies dropped to an average of 3,464MW in October from a monthly average of 3,473MW in the month of September, latest data from the office of the Vice President has shown.
African Development Bank approves capital increase to $208 billion
The African Development Bank’s board approved a 125% capital increase to $208 billion on Thursday, the largest in the lender’s history, AfDB President Akinwumi Adesina said. The decision caps two years of negotiations to give the Abidjan-based bank greater scope to meet the continent’s funding needs. The last increase was agreed in 2010.
Expert tasks FG on power generation
The Federal Government has been urged to deploy small hydropower plants (SHPs) to boost power generation in the country.
