Four -month old baby rescued from quake rubbles in Nepal

A four-month old baby has been rescued from the rubble of a building devastated by the Nepal earthquake, 22 hours after the disaster struck.

A Nepalese newspaper Kathmandu Today published pictures of the baby boy covered in dust as he was being rescued by members of the Nepalese military that were assisting in the on-going search and rescue efforts.

The paper reported that soldiers initially missed infant when they searched through the rubbles for survivors.

They returned to the site of the discovery when they were attracted by the baby’s faint cry from beneath the ruins of the building.

The child whose , name is given as as Sonit Awal, is reportedly in a stable condition in hospital and escaped the ordeal without any serious injuries.

The condition and whereabouts of his parents are unknown.
