If you observe the Hip Hop scene in Nigeria at all, then chances are you have heard a voice like Zilla Oaks, Abuja’s vibrant melodic rap artiste. The Apex Village collective member returns to the fore with a high-tempo rap bop that radiates for its unique sound engineering and its poignant lyricism.

The record is a stealthy follow-up to his last-released project, a duet EP dubbed MMXXII, and his 2022 milestones – songs like Two Faced, as well IC3 (with Backroadgee and Psycho YP). 

On this single, Zilla Oaks takes us on a journey of enjambing flows and sonic ranges. He teams up with Apex Village Producer, KuddiisDead, to paint a portrait of struggles and survival. 

In a conversation with Weekend Beats, the emcee said, “I made this song before I traveled to the tropics and it felt like I manifested it by just singing about it and I want everyone to be able to do that with this song; ask for more and work towards it.”
