Radio, TV presenters rename NARTPON to NAEMPON
As part of measures to transform, uplift status and reposition for greater performance, radio and television presenters in Nigeria under the aegis of National Association of Radio and Television Presenters of Nigeria (NARTPON), have renamed the body. It is now known as National Association of Electronic Media Presenters of Nigeria (NAEMPON).
The National President of the body, Jerry Osuji, disclosed this, yesterday, to after a meeting of the group and the Imo State Chairman of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Great Ibe.
According to Osuji, the meeting, attended by the Publicity Secretary of NAEMPON / Chairman of chapters, formation and inauguration committee, Salvator Amadi, and the Financial Secretary, Vivien Uchechi, among others, recorded success, adding that the members assented to renaming the body.
According to him, the development became necessary in view of the need to distinguish it from the Radio, Television and Theatre Arts Workers Union of Nigeria (RATTAWU).
He said: “The development followed discussions on the need for distinction between the association and RATTAWU.”
Osuji commended Ibe for the cooperation shown from the beginning when NARTPON was formed on October 7, 2021, till date.
