Hauwa Adamu, 75, mother of popular Hausa musician Dauda Kahutu, also known as Rarara, has reportedly been freed from her abductors’ den.

Adamu was kidnapped on the night of June 28 at about 1:30 am in Kahutu village, in the Danja Local Government Area of Katsina State.

Following her abduction, police operatives swung into action at the village and were able to apprehend two suspects in connection with the incident.

According to reports, the septuagenarian’s abductors had demanded the sum of N 1 billion, which was negotiated down to N900 million.

It is, however, not clear if a ransom was paid before she was released, but there are speculations that she had escaped from her abductors’ den.
