Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has called on the Federal Government to repatriate the self acclaimed Prime Minister of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Simon Ekpa from Finland to Nigeria to face justice.

Mbah made this call on Saturday when the members of the House of Representatives Committee on National Security and Intelligence paid him a courtesy visit at the Lion Building, Government House, Enugu.

According to the Enugu State Governor, the activities of Ekpa, a pro-Biafra self determination agitator is the most potent security risk in the South East part of Nigeria.

Mbah informed members of the Committee led by its Chairman, Ahmed Satomi, that security is top on the agenda of the Enugu State Government, lamenting that Ekpa has been tarnishing the image and dignity of Ndigbo by orchestrating violent attacks on citizens and security personnel.

Governor Mbah told members of the Committee led by its Chairman, Ahmed Satomi, that security is a top priority for his administration.

“From the beginning, my administration has focused on addressing security issues, particularly those impacting the region through the so-called “Sit-at-home” orders, but individuals like Ekpa have continued to influence youths negatively through psychological manipulation,” he said.

“I only wonder why the Finnish Government continues to harbour Ekpa despite the adverse effects of his actions on Nigeria.”

Reacting, the Chairman of the visiting House of Representatives Committee, Satomi, said that they were in Enugu State to carry out an oversight function, praising Mbah for his accomplishments so far during his reign as governor.
