Shun politics, focus on arts, culture to earn a living, investor urges youths

Rivers State residents have been charged not to be carried away by politics as a means of making a living but to think outside the box.

The Mayor of Housing, My-ACE China, said Nigerians can make a good living from some of the things we tend to neglect such as arts, music, and culture.

He said Rivers State is blessed with exportable potentials and talents that may boost the economy of the state without necessarily focusing so much on politics as seen by many.

He said, “What is wrong is that we have been carried away by politics as a means of eking a living that we tend to neglect other things.”

He decried neglect in activities that would have engaged the youths and earned them a good living.

He said, “Neglect leads to death and whatever one neglects dies. So, my message to Nigerians is, don’t neglect the rich heritage of where we come from; especially our skills and talents. You will be surprised how much more that would get us to our destination than politics and the like.”

The Mayor of Housing stated this in Port-Harcourt when he was installed as the Patron of the Rivers State Government House Choir.

According to him, the choral assets of the state may be the best light out of the state.

He said he is prepared to support efforts in packaging the choral assets of the state for a global audience.

Reacting after the presentation of his induction plaque, the Mayor of Housing, who was accompanied by his wife, Chidinma China, said he saw it as a huge privilege. He said the onus and responsibility of taking the best part and the best light from Rivers State to the rest of the world is an honour to him.
